The WNBA had gone through a technology unification program to streamline how various properties are managed and presented across the league, their teams sites and other relevant entities. The optimization of their organic search channel, driving new user acquisition to their application and improving overall app engagement was identified as a critical requirement for future growth. Chartis partnered with the WNBA in 2023 to build the new DTC strategy and has planned and executed the 2024 strategy as well.
The WNBA partnered with Chartis to work closely with the engineering, data & analytics and growth teams to ensure that WNBA.com is built from the ground up for maximum SEO visibility with a unified data layer for cross-channel targeting and optimization. Chartis developed centralized reporting dashboards to aggregate data from multiple sources and provide reliable benchmarks. We also developed a new notification strategy for segmenting users of the WNBA to drive further retention and engagement, as well as looking for opportunities to improve adoption.
